In Christ

When the enemies of our soul surround us and they rise like giants to do battle, it is good to rebuke them in the name of Jesus. But what is the power of using that glorious name. Imagine with me as the giant rises to destroy you that you speak to it "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus." But the giant remains in front of you to menace and threaten as you continue to stare at the circumstance which unfolds before you. The phrase "in the name of Jesus" didn't help. But imagine the change when instead of focusing on the giant you turn from his threats to look at the Savior. When you speak His name may you remember that He is with you and may your heart turn to gaze upon His glory. As you stand in awe of who He is and what Christ has done for you the giant simply fades away. In the presence of Jehovah, you are reminded of His love and troubles seem to vanish.
The power is not in the words that you speak but in the relationship that you keep. Smith Wigglesworth said that he never prayed for over 15 minutes but he never went over 15 minutes without praying. It is no wonder that power flowed through his life like a river. Don't make 30 minutes for him in the morning and 30 minutes for him in the evening that leaves 23 hours without acknowledging Christ's presence. Walk in the Spirit and let the power of God live in you richly.
