I'm Gonna Sing Sing Sing

1 Corinthians 14:14-15 (KJV) - For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

Some people sing while they work, some people sing in the shower, some people sing on stage, no matter where you are singing has always been a way to allow the overflow of our heart to surface. Paul says, “I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the understanding also.” When the Holy Spirit begins to flow like a river from your innermost being it is a natural response to sing. Having listened to people singing in the shower it is obvious that one doesn’t have to sing well in order to sing from the overflow of your heart. I have stood at the door and smiled (okay laughed) as someone made up a song and belted it out. They were in the sanctuary of their “closet” and allowing the joy they felt as the water washed over them to spring up until it flowed like a river. Why then is it so hard for us to believe that when we entertain the Holy Spirit in our secret place the words of Jesus will come to pass and from out of our innermost being will flow rivers of living water. Joy unspeakable and full of glory is ours and the singing will begin. It doesn’t have to sound good we are not performing for anyone. We are rejoicing and the Holy Spirit within us is rejoicing with us. Did you know that God is excited to be in your life? He has been waiting for ages for you to come home and open your heart to His great love. The Holy Spirit wants to sing! He wants to shout! He wants to dance! So go ahead and let Him have his way.
