The Courtroom of Heaven
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,.. Ephesians 2:4 (KJV)
The Courtroom of Heaven
In the Courtroom of Heaven, there was no doubt,
I had broken His Law and there was no out.
For God, He is Holy and Just in His ways
But I stood there condemned by my storehouse of days.
I had made such a mockery of all that was right
While selfishly living my way, by my sight
Each commandment He gave from the first to the last
I brushed away quickly and hurried on past
Never stopping to think of the damage I’d done
To the glory of God and the name of His Son
Like Adam before me by nature I craved
The things of this world dark and depraved
I lived for myself never giving a thought
To the muck and the mire in which I was caught
My future was sealed along my life’s way
By the debt that I owed which I could not pay
And now as I stand before the Great King
I have nothing to offer no gift could I bring
My life is unworthy, my strength is undone
Of all I had gathered I stand here with none
And then like a flash of remembrance I hear
“But God” has a plan for those that draw near
Those two little words can change everything
For God’s mighty hand is what they can bring
And all of the while I thought I was lost
“But God” had a plan no matter the cost
He laid down His all so that I could go free
In the Courtroom of Heaven where I bowed my knee
My post today took a slightly different form. I'm not a poet but this just came together while I was writing. I pray it blesses someone.

Are you kidding? It's beautiful, and love that you've got 'But God' in there too. Inspired as a lot of your recent posts have been, thankyou for sharing.
