The Gift of God

Week 2
Romans 6:23 (KJV)  - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

·
·         “But the gift of God”  this phrase highlights the contrast between God and the flesh.  There are many such contrasts in Scripture.  The broad way and the narrow way, destruction and restoration, slavery and liberty but here we are reminded that no matter how alluring the promises of the world seem to be they all lead to just one place.  The enemy has come to steal, kill, and destroy but God has come to give life and that more abundantly.  Christ stands between the living and the dead stopping the plague of death that sin has brought to humanity.  Our God doesn’t come to take but to give.  To give life, liberty, joy, and power in the Holy Ghost.   Now that is worth sharing.  It really is Good News.
