Follow Me

Mark 10:52 (KJV) - And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

When Jesus met Simon and Andrew casting their nets into the sea He said, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” As he passed by James and John He called for them and they stopped what they were doing and followed Him. There is no greater calling in our life than to follow Jesus. To learn His ways and walk in His footsteps. There is an old song that says, “To be like Jesus. To be like Jesus. All I ask is to be like Him.” This should be the heart cry of every Christian. We are called to be like Him. That does not mean we have to all dress the same or listen to the same music. Following Jesus is about doing the will of the Father, loving the lost, binding up the broken hearted, seeking those that are abandoned and bringing hope to the fatherless. Jesus didn’t come to change our personal preferences He came to change our hearts. Being like Jesus involves loving like Jesus. When Bartimaeus encountered Jesus his eyes were opened and he began to see things in a different perspective. He knew that life wasn’t all about him but there was a deeper meaning and in order to explore that purpose he had to follow the Master. What will you do with your life today? Will your choices make you more like Jesus? Who are you following?
