Receiving from Jesus

Mark 10:52 (KJV) - And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

When Jesus speaks into our life there is divine power released in the Spirit that begins to flow into the natural.  Heaven moves on our behalf and all things become possible.  What a joy to know that He loves us and will not withhold any good thing from us.  We know that he is working for our good even when it seems like everything is going the wrong way.  However, there is a truth that we must never forget.  In order for those good things to flow into our life we must receiving them.  We can believe in God.  We can believe in His Son, Jesus.  We can believe that the Holy Spirit is living in our soul.  We can read our Bible and kneel at the altar.  But if we do not believe and receive what Jesus has spoken into our lives we will not receive one thing from God.  In our Scripture the word “received” is derived from a root word that means “to look up”.  If we are going to receive what God has for us, we must “look up” and open our hearts to His will in our life.  Like Jacob who wrestled with the “angel” all night trying to get away from him when the light began to shine and he looked up and saw that the “angel” was in fact God.  Jacob grabbed hold of God and wouldn’t let go even when his thigh was put out of joint Jacob said I will not let you go unless you bless me.  You know how the story goes in Genesis 32.  God changes Jacob’s name to Israel and pronounces a blessing on his life.  Now consider this.  From that day on Jacob called himself Israel.  It didn’t matter what Dad had called him.  It didn’t matter what his wife called him.  It didn’t matter what his friends called him.  God had spoken and given him a new name.  When Jacob received that not just his name changed but his future changed.  God wants to speak into you life and change your future.  Don’t worry about what everyone else says or thinks.  Receive the Word of God let it be engrafted upon your heart today.
